Filmed on location in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Although life in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is hard enough trying to survive on one dollar per day, the Congolese have always kept alive their high sense of fashion.

Jeanpi Ombali, one of the leading young fashion designers of DR Congo, gets his inspiration from the kaleidoscopic streets of Kinshasa where everybody wears colorful clothes.

Jeanpi believes that its time for the Congolese to build their own fashion identity instead of just praising big designers like Mr. Yohji Yamamoto.

This video was filmed on July 2013, two weeks before the first “Kinshasa Fashion Week”.
